This video shows the "highlights" of our flight from Cairns to Brisbane. Included are some "important" statistics of the birding "results" in the northern part of Australia, since we now leave that geographic part for good.
The weather that greeted us in Brisbane was very overcast, and the resulting trip to O'Reilly's Rainforest Reserve got a bit hairy in the end. While traveling the very very narrow and winding road up the mountain the overcast weather turned into hard wind, pounding rain and also a little thunder. We made it up there OK, though.
When checking in a problem rose: my booking had landed on the right day but the wrong MONTH: September, not October! Luckily for us they had a room free, and they let the already paid downpayment be valid... Phew!
We didn't do much else this day, since it was already late in the afternoon and the rain didn't help: it was SO dark. We only made us comfy in our room, enjoyed the Crimson Rosellas and King Parrots checking us out on our balcony and then went for a meal in the upstairs bar. After that we had an early end of the day, since we plan to be up very early tomorrow.
