This week, @ScubaMax and I ventured to Benson Creek Falls Regional Park in Nanaimo to explore the trails to Ammonite Falls. It’s definitely one of the best waterfalls on Vancouver Island. The trail is relatively easy at only 5.5km, however there is a bit of a scramble down a cliffside where the use of ropes in necessary. The trail is relatively easy up until the point where the falls are viewable from above, but becomes more technical as you descend. Overall, super fun! The falls are beautiful and most definitely worth seeing.
Note: access to the decent down into the falls is now closed for the time being. Benson Creek Falls Regional Park is making upgrades to the accessibility of the park.
