This weekend we headed off to Burnham on Sea for a few nights. We took the M5 and came off at junction 22. We had booked Hurn Lane Caravan and Motorhome Club site at Brean. The route in was easy to follow and we used the clubs directions. On arriving at the site, which cost about £24 a night with the VAT reduction, we found a hardstanding pitch. The site was very busy, mostly with couples. Once pitched we drove back in to Burnham on Sea and parked at Pier Street car park. Pier Street is right on the seafront and has actual motorhome bays. Sadly, whilst at Burnham is absolutely poured down so we had to abandon our visit.
The following day we had planned to go to Weston Super Mare, another seaside town, but rain was forecast again. We decided to go to Clarks Village at Street instead. Clarks village is a designer outlet, not far from Glastonbury, and we had a good visit there.
Once back on site we had a break in the weather and headed off on foot. We walked the 10 minutes down to the beach, it is actually called Berrow Beach but in the vlog I refer to it as Brean Beach. The beach went on for miles and it was dog friendly. You can park on the beach for £5-£9 depending on your vehicle. An ice cream van was also doing the rounds, so we got one!
We had a great weekend, despite the rain and would return to Hurn Lane again. Brean itself is a popular holiday resort and I would imagine it will be busy during peak times. We will be going back in the future to try Warren farm Caravan Site.
