In today's world, 'workplace experience' has become an in-demand norm, with the physical workspace environment looking A LOT different than it has in the past.
Cutting-edge office complex, Terraces lacked a holistic atmosphere vital to a 'learn, work, collaborate environment.' HGOR's master plan repositioned the mid-80s complex utilizing several opportunities that included multi-functional gathering spots.
HGOR's design plan involved accessible spaces such as shade structures, an overlook deck, outdoor sculptures, and a putt-putt / flex lawn.
The first shade structure is retrofitted with vines and cables to feature a green roof common space, attaches to an overlook deck, and mirrors the bridge's distinctive characteristics while concealing existing lake outflow.
Additional features:
💧 Low-impact green infrastructure components such as infiltration trenches and reduction of existing impervious pavement
🌿 Native landscape palette, adapted pollinator species
☁️ Stormwater management imbued through pervious paving and putt-putt course/flex lawn that dual functions as a sub-surface stormwater infiltration feature
