In 1921, Tulsa, Oklahoma was home to one of the most prosperous Black communities in the United States.
The Greenwood District—often called Black Wall Street—was filled with Black-owned businesses, professionals, and property owners. It was proof that success was possible, even inside a system designed to deny it.
Over the course of less than 24 hours, Greenwood was destroyed.
This video examines what happened in Tulsa in 1921, how the violence unfolded, and why the truth was buried for decades.
