As the Autumn season comes to a close, the Reading & Northern Railroad rolls out the last of their Fall Foliage excursions, through the dwindling fall colors of Anthacite Country. Follow Streamlined Diesel F-Units 270 and 275 as they pull an abbreviated eight-car train North on the Reading Division.

Background on Engines #270 and #275
Reading & Northern 270 is an EMD F9A, originally built for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1952. 275, an EMD F7B, was built for the Chicago Great Western Railroad in 1950. While now a pair, 270 and 275 spent a majority of their career on separate railroads, only uniting in the early 2000's for excursion service. Norfolk Southern operated 270 and 275, as well as sister units 271 and 276 (then numbered 4270-4276) as an A-B-B-A set from 2007 to 2019, when the units were auctioned off. 270 & 275 were sold to the Reading & Northern, and 271 & 276 were sold to the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway in North Carolina.
