Описание: An American history song describing the harsh working conditions of Irish immigrants working on the first transcontinental railroad, completed with the nailing of the golden spike in 1869, that greatly sped up the settling of the west. Most of the pictures depict the Central Pacific railroad, which was built by mainly Chinese immigrants. But since the Union Pacific, made up of plenty of Irish immigrants and former slaves drove across the plains to eventually meet up with the CP, photos of drilling and blasting are harder to come by. :)
