Crispy on the outside and creamy inside, these golden potato kukus are filled with a savory mix of minced meat, mushrooms, and herbs — a comforting village-style meal you’ll love.
🔸 Ingredients (serves 4):
Potatoes – 5 (medium-sized)
Onions – 2
Carrots – 2
Parsley – 20 sprigs (chopped)
Eggs – 3
Flour – 3 tbsp
Ground meat – 250 g
Mushrooms – 200 g
Butter – 100 g
Salt, black pepper, turmeric – to taste
Mozzarella cheese – a small handful (optional)
Oil – for frying
👩🍳 How It’s Made:
Boil and mash the potatoes, then mix them with sautéed onions, grated carrots, parsley, flour, and eggs until you get a smooth dough. In another pan, sauté minced meat and mushrooms with onions and a little seasoning, then stir in some cheese. Flatten portions of the potato dough, place the filling inside, seal, and fry until each patty is golden and crisp. Best enjoyed hot and fresh.
