The Raute tribe in Nepal is a unique nomadic community, the last of its kind in the country. living a traditional hunter-gatherer lifestyle. They are known for their distinctive culture, craftsmanship, and animistic beliefs. The Routes are considered endangered and are the subject of ongoing efforts to preserve their culture and traditions.
Raute, the only nomads of Nepal, roam in western hill including Karnali province and have been living in Nepal for the last 1000 years (Reinhard, 1974) . They hunt monkeys, gather yams and other plants in forests, but do not kill other wild animals. ... Karnali province is the largest province in Nepal.
