When the switchbacks were washed away and the community was completely cut off, Jake Jarvis (Precision Grading) and his crew didn't wait for government assistance. They hiked in with "big giant chainsaws" and determination to cut a path to the trapped residents.

This is what "Hill Folk" resilience looks like. Jake has been working non-stop since day one to clear roads and help neighbors.

While I am now traveling to survive the winter cheaply in South America, my heart remains here with the people who picked up chainsaws when the world fell apart.
