Snorkel TBA-42 Manlift - Will It Start and Drive?

Описание: I've been hunting for deal on a manlift for over a year, and boy-howdy did my patience pay off. I found this old Snorkel TBA-42 a couple hours from my home for a great price. Buying older heavy equipment is always a little bit of a gamble, but I'm pretty confident I'm gonna come out on top with this.

She's a little rough around the edges. She's really tough to get started, there are a lot of dodgy electrical connections to sort out, and the forward-reverse stick doesn't respond. There's also little known history beyond some rental-company stickers on the cabinets and a seller who "got it from a guy who got it from a guy."

But once started she runs well enough that I doubt any serious engine problems, and all they hydraulics work. Even the forward and reverse works fine if you prod the solenoid directly. So there's a lot to fix, but nothing too terribly intimidating.

We had some off-camera adventures getting it onto a truck to be schlepped to my island, and then again getting it unloaded and down my driveway, but suffice it to say with enough jump-start batteries and starter fluid we just barely made it happen. Now she's on my property and ready for a little attention.

This video is the bare minimum. It was a long, cold morning of work getting her off that truck and into the center of my driveway, and after I shut her down and had a hot breakfast, I absolutely could not for the life of me get her started again. So in this video I throw a replacement starter and solenoid at the problem and trace down a few key bad wiring connections with the goal of getting her starting and driving once again.

I've got a long list of things that need done before she's ready to be put back into service and trusted to take me up 40+ feet in the air, but that's future-Mike's problem. Right now I just want her starting and driving so I can finally get her parked out of the way, and not have it be a huge headache to move her around if I need to.
