Pepper Beef with Mange tout

Hi guys, welcome to Marks Irish Kitchen, where I cook family friendly meals that everyone can enjoy. Todays video is for a Healthy stir-fried peppered beef with Mange tout. This delicious, tasty dish is quick and easy to make and can be on the table in 15 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
500g sirloin steak
2 tablespoons groundnut or vegetable oil
1 large pepper, cored, deseeded and diced
250 g/8 oz mangetout,
1 green chilli, finely chopped, seeds discarded according to taste
2.5 cm/1 inch piece of fresh root ginger, peeled and finely chopped
trimmed
1 tablespoon Chinese 5-spice mix
1 tablespoon cornflour
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons soft dark brown sugar
4 spring onions, finely chopped
parsley sprig, to garnish
Wrap the steak and place in the freezer for about 1 hour or until just frozen, then cut into thin slices across the grain.
Heat a wok or large frying pan until hot. Add 1 tablespoon of the oil and heat over a moderate heat until hot. Add the chilli, ginger, spring onions and red pepper and stir-fry over a
gentle heat for 5 minutes until well softened.
Remove all the vegetables with a slotted spoon and set aside on a plate. Wipe the pan with kitchen paper.
Heat the remaining oil in the pan, add the Chinese five spice, the meat and increase the heat to high. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until the meat is browned on all sides. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside with the vegetables.
Blend the cornflour in a measuring jug with 2 tablespoons of water, then add a further 2 tablespoons of water.
Stir well to combine and make up to 300 ml 1/2 pint with boiling water. Pour into the pan add the soy sauce and sugar and bring to the boil over a high heat, stirring constantly until thickened
and glossy.
Return all the ingredients to the pan add the mange tout and stir-fry for about 3 minutes or until heated through.
Serve at once
