How living slowly helped me recover from burnout 💙

Why does it feel like most people nowadays are either burning out, have burned out, are close to a breaking point, or just doing their best to trudge along? When we have unexplainable tiredness, fatigue, infections, and different symptoms, when our minds and bodies shut down and we don’t feel like ourselves anymore - burnout shows up in different ways for everyone.
Burnout doesn’t happen overnight and the causes of burnout are extremely personal. Unfortunately, we don’t always have a security blanket, an easy way out, or safety net of sorts.
Through personal experience, I explore the concept of the let down effect and the topic of burnout, its causes and symptoms, and how living slower helped me to get my life and energy back.
In my journey I also learned a few lessons the hard way, which I’d love to share with you:
how to live slow
how we can live slowly when the world continues at a fast pace
how drawing boundaries helps us maintain a calm state
what we can gain from living slow
a realistic way to manage stress when we can’t just stop
Slow living taught me the different ways of rest. It taught me to become more mindful and to find rest and joy in the smallest moments such as drinking a hot cup of tea or even doing chores.
Slowing down helped me to break free from an endless stress cycle - a constant loop of pushing, getting sick, recovering, feeling guilty, and overcompensating.
