මුන්නේශ්වරම් කෝවිල ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ හලාවත ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි වැදගත් හින්දු ආගමික සිද්ධස්ථානයකි. ප්‍රසිද්ධ හින්දු වීර කාව්‍යයක් වන රාමායණයේ එන රාම රජු මෙම සිද්ධස්ථානය හා සම්බන්ධ බව පැවසුන ද අවම වශයෙන් ක්‍රි.පූ. 1000 දක්වා හෝ දිවෙන කල්පිත අතීතයකට මෙම කෝවිල හිමිකම් කියයි. ශිව දෙවියන් වෙනුවෙන් ඉදි කෙරුණු මෙම කෝවිල, දකුණු ඉන්දියානු කලාපයෙහි, ශිව දෙවියන් වෙනුවෙන් ඉදි කෙරුණු පෞරාණික හින්දු සිද්ධස්ථාන පහ අතරින් එකකි.

හලාවත ප්‍රදේශයේ තිබෙන වැදගත් ආගමික සිද්ධස්ථානයක් තමයි මුන්නේශ්වරම් කෝවිල. මෙය හලාවත - කුරුණෑගල ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ හලාවත සිට 2km ක් දුරින් පිහිටා ඇත. පලමුව පිහිටවූ ඊශ්වර කෝවිල නිසා " මුන්නේශ්වරම්" ලෙස කියා නම් කර තිබෙනවා. පුදබිම් සංකීර්ණයේ ගණ දෙවියන් ,අයියනායක දෙවියන් හා කාලිමෑණියන්ට කැපකල තවත් දේවාල 3කුත් දැකගන්න පුළුවන්.
නව රාත්‍රී ,ශිව රාත්‍රී ඇතුළු ප්‍රධාන හින්දු ආගමික උත්සව හා අගෝස්තු,සැප්තැම්බර් මාස වල වාර්ශික මංගල්‍යය උත්සව මෙහි පවත්වනවා.

දැදුරු ඔයේ මෝයකට

ඔබ හලාවත නගරය පහු කරලා වෙරළ උද්‍යානය පැත්තට එද්දි හලාවත කළපුව උඩින් වැටිලා තියෙන පාලම දිගේ තමයි එන්න තියෙන්නෙ. මේ කලපුවත් හලාවත නගරයට එකතු කරන්නෙ හරි අපුරූ සුන්දරත්වයක්. කලපුවේ ලස්සන බෝට්ටු සවාරියක ගිහින් බලන්නත් පුළුවන්. කොළඹ ඉදන් එන හැමිල්ටන් ඇලත් මේ කලපුවට සම්බන්ධ වෙලා තමයි තියෙන්නෙ.
වෙරළ උද්‍යානය පාස් කරලා කිලෝමීටර් 3ක දුරක් ආවම එන්න පුළුවන් දැදුරු ඔය මුහුදට වැටෙන මෝයකට බලන්න
දැදුරු ඔය දිග අනුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ 6 වන ස්ථානය හිමිවන අතර දිගින් කි.මී. 142 ක් එනම් සැතපුම් 88ක් පමණ වේ. අතිතයේ "ජජ්ජර නදිය "ලෙස හඳුන්වන ලද දැදුරු ඔයේ ඉතා කුඩා කාලයකදී ජල මට්ටම සීග්‍ර ලෙස ඉහල යන බව සැලකේ. දැදුරු ඔය හරස් කර දැදුරුඔය ජලාශය ඉදි කර ඇත.
එක් පසකින් ඉමක් කොනක් නොපෙනෙන සාගරයත් අනෙක් පසෙන් කළපුවත් ඉදිරියෙන් දැදුරු ඔයත් තියෙන මේ තැන ගැන කියන්න වචන නැති තරම්. හවස ඉර බහින වෙලාවට යන්න පුළුවන් නම් පුදුමාකාර සුන්දරත්වයක් තියෙන තැනක් තමයි මේ මෝයකට. අපිටත් පුළුවන් උනා ඒ වෙලාවට මේ සුන්දර දැදුරු ඔයේ මෝයකට බලන්න යන්න.


Munneswaram Kovil

Munneswaram Kovil is an important religious site in the Chilaw area. It is located 2km from Chilaw on the Chilaw-Kurunegala main road. This temple claims a history dating back to at least 1000 BC. It is considered one of the 5 oldest temples built for Lord Shiva in the South Indian region. It is named "Munneswaram" because of the first Ishwara temple built. In the temple complex, 3 other temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyanayaka and Goddess Kalimani can be seen.
Major Hindu religious festivals including Nava Ratri, Shiva Ratri and annual festivals in the months of August and September are held here.


To reach the mouth of the Deduru Oya, you have to cross the bridge over the Chilaw Lagoon when you pass the Chilaw town and come towards the beach park. This lagoon also adds a very unique beauty to the city of Chilaw. You can also go on a beautiful boat ride in the lagoon. The Hamilton Canal coming from Colombo is also connected to this lagoon.
After passing the beach park and coming 3 kilometers away, you can come to the mouth of the Deduru Oya that falls into the sea
The Deduru Oya ranks 6th in Sri Lanka in terms of length and is 142 km long, or about 88 miles. It is believed that the water level in the Deduru Oya, which was formerly known as the "Jajjara River", rises rapidly in a very short period of time. The Deduru Oya reservoir has been built by crossing the Deduru Oya.
There are no words to describe this place, with the ocean on one side, the lagoon on the other, and the Deduru Oya in front. If you can go in the evening when the sun sets, this estuary is a place of amazing beauty. We were also able to go to see the estuary of this beautiful Deduru Oya at that time.
