We accept the challenges life throws at us—the struggling marriage, the failing business, the declining health—but we won't challenge OURSELVES to actually change them.
Why is that?
Why do we accept situations we have the power to influence, but refuse to do the work of becoming better, showing up differently, or committing to real growth?
In this video, I talk about the difference between accepting your circumstances and challenging yourself to change them. Life will always be full of challenges. But when those challenges are things YOU can actually influence—your relationships, your health, your business—accepting them is a choice.
The way forward isn't accepting "this is as good as it gets." It's challenging yourself to grow, to improve, to become a better version of who you are.
Yes, it requires effort. Yes, you have to stick with it. Yes, most people give up.
But just like those mornings you don't want to go to the gym—when you do it anyway, you're glad you did. You get the reward on the other side.
So the question is: What are you accepting in your life right now that you actually have the power to change? And when are you going to challenge yourself to do something about it?
