Parliament’s Committee on Statutory Authority and state enterprises has summoned businessman Karim Hirji to explain how 623 million shillings given to him by President Yoweri Museveni to prepare his hotel for the Commonwealth heads of government summit turned into a gift.
Hirji says the money was used to buy a transformer .
The Auditor generals report however shows that there is no record of how the money was spent.
The committee was scrutinizing the auditor general's report of 2014/2015.
