Описание: I’ve always been a foodie at heart. From making microwave pizzas from scratch to whipping up homemade cheese fondue (without the wine, of course), my sister and I practically grew up in the kitchen creating magic. Naturally, that love evolved into an obsession with fine dining from the endless courses, the delicate plating, the ambience, and all those cooking shows that made it feel like a world just waiting for us to step into.

Fine dining always felt like a dream reserved for special occasions, and honestly, even now at my big age, it still is. That’s why I appreciate establishments like Hue Café that make the experience more accessible, even on a random weeknight.

And when Lindah does something? He pours his whole heart into it. You could see that from the moment we sat down: candles glowing, a freshly pressed tablecloth, a little bouquet of rosemary that added touch of green in the sea of beige and aroma of course. Our table for six was tucked quietly at the back of the restaurant, under the Durban nightlight. I arrived alone and, to be honest, I’m not always the best at mingling but the guests were warm, welcoming, and friendly. It immediately set the tone for a beautiful evening.

When I saw the menu, I was already excited for the fish because it was a staple in my childhood, so I was curious to see how they’d elevate it. Phela thina sijwayele the classic grilled or fried fish and chips 😅. Each course was delicious and incredibly well balanced, both in flavour and texture. Around the table you’d hear, “creamy,” “a slight kick,” “crunchy,” “flavourful,” “moist,” and “beautiful,” followed by empty plates every single time. The menu was thoughtfully curated and really encouraged us to rethink the endless ways vegetables can be made sexy 🤞🏾

I honestly can’t wait to experience many more test menu evenings at Hue Café. ❤️
