On 19 March 2019 ETH Zurich presented the Spark Award 2019. The award stands for the most promising invention, which was filed for a patent in 2018. The video features the work of Dr Cody Ross Pitts, Dr Nico Santschi and Professor Antonio Togni from the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences. The presented technology was among the top 5 nominees for the Spark Award 2019 for a new synthesis method for fluorinated compounds, which are relevant in agricultural and medicinal chemistry.
