On the days of the Notting Hill Carnival, several routes around the local area are changed. Instead of using Enviro 200s and Enviro 200 MMCs, Route 316 is upgraded to a full allocation of double deckers. This year was the first time that double deckers were extended to the new Brent Cross West station.
Route 316 terminated at Cricklewood Bus Garage until the 10th of December 2023, When the route was extended to serve the new station on its opening day. The normal version of route 316 runs from Brent Cross West Station to White City Bus Station. Via Cricklewood Bus Garage, Cricklewood Broadway, Kilburn Station, Brondesbury Station, Kilburn High Road, Kilburn High Road Station, Kilburn Park Station, Fernhead Road, Queen's Park Station, Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's, St Charles' Hospital, Latimer Road Station, And Shepherd's Bush Station.
The Y316 (during the carnival) runs from Brent Cross West to Harrow Road, Elgin Avenue. The Y316 does not serve Ladbroke Grove, St Charles' Hospital, Latimer Road and Shepherd's Bush.
The normal version of route 316 runs every 6 to 20 minutes. The route has a peak vehicle requirement of 18. Route 316 was transferred to Willesden Junction (WJ) garage in 2023. Route 316 started operating on the 11th of October 1997.
