SUPERLOOP SL11 - The First Day of London's NEW Express Route! (+472 & N472) Gemini 2s & NBFLs

Описание: The new SL11 bus route has now started running. This route is the 12th addition to London's Superloop express bus network. The route has fully replaced route 472, which has now been withdrawn. The SL11 runs between North Greenwich and Abbey Wood, in southeast London. The route runs every 6 to 12 minutes from 5:00am until midnight, seven days a week. Journeys on the SL11 are free for the first week, up until the 30th of January.

The SL11 stops at around 15 stops between North Greenwich and Abbey Wood. The route serves North Greenwich Station, the Millennium Village and Retail Park, New Charlton Retail Centres, Charlton Station, Woolwich Town Centre and Station, Plumstead, Belmarsh Prison, Thamesmead Town Centre, Thamesmead North, Carlyle Road, Harrow Manorway and Abbey Wood (Gayton Road). The SL11 is operated by Go-Ahead London from Morden Wharf (MG) garage. A mix of diesel and hybrid buses are being used temporarily. New Routemasters from route 453 have been branded for the SL11. While diesel Wright Eclipse Gemini 2s from route 131 are also being used. These Gemini 2s will soon be replaced by more New Routemasters from route SL3. New electric double deckers are to be ordered for the SL11. Electrics will replace the New Routemasters in the future.

As mentioned earlier, the SL11 has replaced the 472, which ran from North Greenwich to Abbey Wood. The 472 stopped at around 40 stops between North Greenwich and Abbey Wood. The route ran every 8 to 12 minutes, while the SL11 runs every 6 to 12 minutes. The 472 served North Greenwich, the Millennium Village, New Charlton, Charlton, Woolwich Ferry, Woolwich Arsenal Station, Woolwich Station, Plumstead Bus Garage, Belmarsh Prison, Grasshaven Way, Watersmeet Place, Thamesmead Town Centre, Thamesmead North, Carlyle Road, Southmere Lake, Abbey Wood Station, Abbey Wood Road and Gayton Road. The 472 was operated by Stagecoach London. The route ran from Plumstead (PD) garage, located in the middle of the route. The 472 used ADL Enviro400s from 2011, 2012 and 2013, ADL Enviro400 Hybrids from 2014, And ADL Enviro400 MMCs from 2015 to 2018. The 472 started running in 1999, running between North Greenwich and Thamesmead.

The London Underground Jubilee line at North Greenwich,
National Rail (Southeastern and Thameslink) at Charlton, Plumstead and Abbey Wood,
And the Elizabeth Line at Abbey Wood.
The SL11 passes by the site of the future Thamesmead DLR station at Watersmeet Place.
