🍴 METHOD / DIRECTIONS
1. Prepare the Chicken Marinade:
Wash and dab chicken breast dry with tissue.
Slice into chunks and place in a bowl.
Add salt, paprika, ginger powder, seasoning cube, curry, pepper, garlic, ginger, and burnt pepper.
Mix thoroughly and let marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
2. Boil the Add-ons:
Boil carrots and hotdogs for 2 minutes, then drain and allow to cool.
3. Cook the Chicken:
In a pan, heat a little vegetable oil.
Fry the marinated chicken on low heat for 10 minutes.
Add boiled sausage/hotdog to the pan and let it absorb the chicken’s juices.
Cook for another 30–45 minutes on low heat until well done.
Remove and allow to cool.
4. Prepare the Veggies:
Shred the boiled carrot.
Slice cabbage or lettuce thinly.
(Optional) Peel and slice cucumber — avoid the juicy core.
Combine all veggies in a bowl.
5. Make the Creamy Sauce:
In a bowl, mix ketchup + mayonnaise + 1 tbsp condensed milk.
Stir until creamy and smooth.
6. Assemble the Shawarma:
Separate your shawarma bread layers.
Brush inside with the creamy sauce.
Add cabbage mix, chicken, sausage, and fresh tomato (optional).
Drizzle more sauce on top.
Roll tightly (use two wraps for stronger hold).
7. Toast & Wrap:
Heat a dry frying pan.
Place wrapped shawarma and toast each side for 2 minutes until golden.
Wrap in foil or paper and slice in half.
🥰 And that’s it — your creamy, delicious homemade Nigerian shawarma is ready!
