Learn to beat the keeper and score every shot with this youth soccer drill

⚽ The purpose of this drill is to master decision making when shooting, picking the side of the goal that provides the best opportunity for a goal

🔑 The keys to effective decision making while shooting are keeping your head up, staying aware of the goalie and players around you, and making a final decision as you approach the ball of which side is more open and committing to that decision

1️⃣ Three players start with a ball each around the top of the 18-yard box. The goal has a goalie, and different colored bibs in the top corners.
2️⃣ The coach will clap his or her hands, at which point the players take a touch to the side and prepare for a shot.
3️⃣ As the players approach the ball the coach will call a color of the bibs, and the front player will shoot to that side of the goal.
4️⃣ The back two players will act as if they were shooting towards that side as well, but fake the shot
5️⃣ The players rotate positions and repeat the drill

📈 Practice this drill once or twice a week while learning the skill. Players will improve their last-minute decision making overtime, which will lead to them becoming very effective shooters and goal scorers in game.
