Today we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part number TC2524. These Titan chains are heavy duty. They're designed to work with light trucks. They featured low profile, square links, so not only are you going to get adequate traction on light snow and ice, you're going to get a smoother ride than most chains provide. The links themselves are 5.5 millimeters thick and they're designed to work with wheel sizes between and 15 and 17 1/2 inches. See etrailer.com for your exact tire size.
It also features a diamond pattern, whereas most chains have a ladder pattern, so you're going to get more tire coverage, which means more traction. Most chains require a rubber adjuster or an additional part to help them remain tight around the tire. Ours is built in. They're made out of a manganese nickel alloy construction, so they're going to be strong, durable, and rust resistant. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour and they come in a quantity of two. To top it all off, they come with a bag so we can stow them nicely.
We're going to be putting tire chains on the rear tires of our Nissan Frontier because it is rear wheel drive. To begin to test it, we've gone ahead and laid our chain out. It's a good idea to make sure there's no twists, kinks, or any tangles in it. You also want to be sure that the hooks here, the open side, is facing down. When we install the chain on our tire, it'll be facing up. That's what we want.
Now, let's go ahead and bring the cable around our tire. Once we get to the open portion of our chain here, we want to stop. That'll be center. We'll take our two cables on either side and we're going to bring it up around our tire to the back and then we'll just connect the two cables together. At the same time, we grab our chain and just drape it over our tire. Then, we'll take our green hook and our yellow links here.
Connect as many together as we can. We want to be sure that it's tight, so we'll connect the third one and then we'll make our way down to the bottom of the chain. Then, we'll grab our gray chain here at the bottom and our red channel. We're going to bring it underneath and then pull it up nice and tight until it kind of locks into position as you see it there. We'll take our gray chain and then go up through the red loop here. You'll notice there are two red loops, both of them are not needed. Once we get through there, then we can connect it directly across. There we go. You can see it's nice and tight. We can go ahead and repeat the same process for the other side. Once we get both sides done, it's a good idea to drive a short distance, stop, get out, check and see if you need to make any adjustments. That's going to complete our look at the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains. That's part number TC2524.
