Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks CrossTrack bike rack on the back of our 2025 Toyota RAV4. Now this may be a great option if you're looking for a single bike rack so you can go on your solo rides and this one kind of sits in the middle between being a prima style bike rack and being an entry level one. So if you want something that feels nice, accommodates a lot of bikes, I'd go with this. But let's talk about how it's fitting on here right now. So right now our bike is pretty far away from our vehicle.

That's nice. So even if you're on some really bumpy roads, we're not gonna make contact with anything. And we can open up our hatch. I'll have to tilt this back first. The way I do that is by grabbing onto this handle and lowering it down.

I will say with a lot of the single bike racks, I like, that we have, most of them don't tilt. So that's pretty nice about this one. Now if you have some really long handlebars, you might make contact here. I will say I do have a mountain bike today. So the handlebars on this are already pretty wide.

So definitely keep that in mind still. So you can now take a seat in here if you want to tie your shoes, grab your gear, or if you're out and about, you need to put away some groceries, you have that ability while still keeping your bike on here. But now let me put this back up and I can talk about how it feels like to actually remove the bike. So once that clicks into place, what I'll do is come over here to the back tire, there'll be a red button, press that in and we can push away. Sometimes it can be a little bit awkward to work with.

Here we go. Same thing on the front side. And now I can take off my bike. And what's nice is that's not making any frame contact. So even if you have an alternative frame bike or a carbon frame bike, you won't have any issues there. And on the tray itself, there's gonna be that wheel chalk that helps hold the front tire into place, which gives us a really good hold. Part of the reason why we don't have to deal with any straps. I like that 'cause it makes working with this way faster. (rack clicking) But now, let's get a couple measurements. So the first one I'm gonna get is gonna be the ground clearance. Going to the furthest part back, we're gonna be at 16 inches right here. So if you have this loaded up with a heavier bike, 'cause this is gonna have your max capacity of 66 pounds for the bike. So you can even carry your heavy e-bikes on here. We're probably not gonna make ground contact, but definitely keep an eye on that if you're going up any steep inclines like a driveway or a steep hill. Now for the total distance out it sits, that's gonna be about 23 1/2 inches, which is pretty standard for a single bike carrier. It can be a little bit longer than some, but what we can do about that is by tilting it up. So I'll put it up by one notch. And this is fine if you have anything on the back of your vehicle. Most cases for the RAV4, you won't need to put it in this position, but right now it's sitting at about 20 inches. And when I put it up one more time, it sits at 90 degrees. And now this is only gonna be sitting at about 12 1/2 inches, which is pretty good. Now that's gonna save you a lot of space, especially in those tight spots like parking spot or garages. And what's really nice about this too is, I can still open up my hatch without making any contact with the rack. Another thing that's nice about it being more low is we're not gonna block anything like your backup camera, your license plate, taillight, or back window. Now the way this is gonna install is we're gonna have a two inch shank that goes into your two inch hitch receiver. And this is gonna be a welded plate on the very top of it. So when you're pushing this in, it's gonna stop making it easier to align that pinhole, or that pin with the pinhole, and it's gonna have a lock on the other side to secure it into place. And on the very back of it, we'll have this anti-rattle device. And that's gonna help give this a better hold. So if you're on any bumpy roads, you don't have to deal with that rattling. So overall, I think this is a great option if you're looking for something more in the middle of the road. If you're looking for something mor
