I'm am starting a Hat of The Month series of videos. Each month I will select a new pattern that either goes with the time of the year or a holiday in that month. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Every time I watch a movie (which is often, haha) I love all the knitted items in those movies. I always wanted to knit something Harry Potter inspired. So, drum roll please, here is the first one I managed to finished. I thought this hat would be a good start to the hat of the month idea I have. In the movies Hermione wears quite a few hats that I adore. This hat is from the movie Deathly Hallows Part 1. It's the scene where Harry and Hermione go to Godric's Hallow. What I Used:
Clover Bamboo circular and double pointed needles, size 8
Caron Simply Soft yarn (4ply) in Rubine Red, one ball

Size:
Average adult head

Gauge:
16 sts and 25 rows = 4" in hat pattern.

Instructions:
Cast On 72 sts.
Work a 1x1 (K1, P1) rib for 1".
Increase Row: *K2, K1f&b; rep from * around - 96 sts

Body:
Rnd 1 & 2: *K2, P2; rep from * around.
Rnd 3 & 4: *P2, K2; rep from * around.
Repeat Rnds 1 through 4 until hat measures 6" from cast on edge.

After you finished Rnd 4, start Row 1 placing stitch marker every 16 sts.

Crown Decreases:
Rnd 1: *P2tog, (P2, K2) 3 times, P2, slip marker; rep rom * around - 90 sts
Rnd 2: *P2tog, K1, (P2, K2) 3 times, slip marker; rep from * around - 84 sts
Rnd 3: *P2tog, (P2, K2) 3 times, slip marker; rep from * around - 78 sts
Rnd 4: *P2tog, K1, (P2, K2) twice, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 72 sts
Rnd 5: *P2tog, (P2, K2) twice, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 66 sts
Rnd 6: *P2tog, K1, (P2, K2) twice, slip marker; rep from * around - 60 sts
Rnd 7: *P2tog, (P2, K2) twice, slip marker; rep from * around - 54 sts
Rnd 8: *P2tog, K1, P2, K2, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 48 sts
Rnd 9: *P2tog, P2, K2, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 42 sts
Rnd 10: *P2tog, K1, P2, K2, slip marker; rep from * around - 36 sts
Rnd 11: *P2tog, P2, K2, slip marker; rep from * around - 30 sts
Rnd 12: *P2tog, K1, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 24 sts
Rnd 13: *P2tog, P2, slip marker; rep from * around - 18 sts
Rnd 14: *P2tog, P1; rep from * around - 12 sts

Cut yarn and weave through remaining 12 sts. Pull tight to close hat. Finished ends.
