Lucky Lucy has just been introduced to the little aviary during the day. Walter is minicreche grandfather - he supervises the little ones and allows them to share his sling. In the video he is supremely disinterested, but he does interact with the little ones and looks out for them.
Walter is a 20 plus year old Grey-Headed Flying-Fox living out his life as an education bat. He can no longer fly but is an excellent ambassador for bats.
In captivity, Flying-Foxes may live to their mid twenties, with good husbandry and vet care.
