Electronic videogame soundtracks made as a remix or orchestral arrangement are fast growing and now amassing huge followings on YouTube. Iconic soundtracks like Super Mario, Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda are some of the most loved and listened to, especially when a musician takes a theme or track and arranges it for other instruments, turns it into an electronic remix or orchestrates it for a full orchestra, all with their own ideas in mind, giving the music a new lease of life, uplifting, relaxing, invigorating and entertaining the listeners, something you would hear on Classic FM. A soundtrack from a Videogame could be turned into a symphonic journey, a waltz, a medley or whatever the artist can create.

This is a Symphonic Poem for a full Orchestra, entitled "The Ballad of Termina". A Symphonic Poem is essentially a piece which tells a story, and with the 20th Anniversary of the release of Majora's Mask, I felt it fitting to write something special to celebrate this incredible and innovative Zelda game, which stands out from the other titles in this infamous franchise.

In this piece of music, accompanied by video footage of in-game play, I attempted to tell the whole story from the beginning: Originally, there was the Skull Kid, who befriended the four Giants who watch over Termina. Skull Kid was a prankster who played tricks on people, leading to their distancing from him. After losing the Giants when they went to sleep and watch over the inhabitants of Termina, Skull Kid acquires new friends, the Fairies Tatl and Tael. After coming across the Happy Mask Salesman, he becomes possessed by the power of Majora's Mask, and wreaks havoc upon Termina, causing the Moon to fall to the surface of the World.

Enter Link, on his journey to find is Fairy friend Navi; on his travels, he encounters the Skull Kid while possessed by Majora's Mask, and journeys to free himself of the Deku curse, as well as helping free others of theirs, and ultimately uniting the four Giants together to halt the fall of the moon and defeat the threat Majora's Mask poses the world.

Afterwards, realising the Skull Kid never lost the Giants as friends, he befriends Link, in time for the Carnival of Time held at Clock Town, the central area (and heart) of Termina.
