The face pull is a great exercise for building out your upper back. But the face pull is also great for practicing healthy internal and external rotation for good shoulder health. Danny shows you the face pull variation you need to try in this video!
Great exercise for:
Queuing external rotation
Protecting the shoulder
Opening up your posture
Set Up:
Grab rope from top position
Hands in internal rotation
Staggered stance
Pull up and out
Bring knot end of the rope to your upper ears
You should feel everything open up
You DON’T have to use much weight
This is NOT something that you want to load up or do fast
Do this properly and execute with intent
Try at the beginning of your workout, after shoulder workout, or when your posture is just not looking the best.
Common Mistake: Loading up with too much weight! If you load up too much weight you will probably do the movement wrong and not use your shoulder correctly.
