The Iron Monkey Beast & Bells is a fun complex and as a progressive program -it can yield some really impressive results. My first version is published and free to do on the @strongfirst training app. Download the app and lmk what you think. I have since written a few variations. One where the focus is on Push-ups and squats instead of cleans and squats, another with alternating focus on push-ups and cleans, and one where you finish the day with 5-6 sets of deadlifts, lol! All got great results from our clients here💪💪🔥
🤓 what is a complex? A complex is 2 or more exercises done in succession with the same training tool (ie. Kettlebell, barbell, dumbbell, bodyweight).
🤓What makes complexes so effective? It's a combination of time under tension, fatigue, and stress. These planned out in an intelligent and strategic way can have a huge impact on strength, hypertrophy, and conditioning.
🤓 oh wow, so I should just do complexes from now on? Hold on! No. Unfortunately the Law of Accommodation prevents that from being effective. You see, your body adapts to the stress. You have to change it up. In linear progressions this means you probably can get about 6 weeks of this before you need a completely new plan.
