You'd be forgiven for thinking the Luhrs 41 Convertible may have been built specifically for local WA waters - with her fine entry, high bow and wave piercing characteristics she tames the sou-west seas whipped up by the Doctor. Her lines are 'Carolina' style, typical of many US built bedigree game boats like Cabo, Davis, Bertram & Viking Yachts.
"The need to go farther and faster in pursuit of bigger fish or more productive waters slowly pushed builders to the edge of the technological capabilities of the time. Any changes that came about were rooted in competition -- one guy wanted to go farther faster and catch more fish than the other guy. "

The 41 is was the largest model in the Luhrs fleet when she was introduced in 2004, the 41 Convertible offered anglers and cruisers a lot of
boat at a very competitive price.

Heavily built on a modified-V hull with prop pockets (Tunnels), the super-wide 15'9" beam of the 41 Convertible results in the cockpit and cabin dimensions of a much larger boat.

Her cherrywood interior features a spacious saloon with a teak and holly sole, full entertainment center, and Ultraleather sofa to starboard that converts into a double berth at the push of a button.

A U-shaped galley with Corian counters, three-burner electric cooktop, and convection oven is forward of the lounge. (A washer/dryer unit
is installed in a salon cabinet.

A large double-entry head with separate stall shower serves both staterooms.

The 41's roomy 85 square-foot cockpit has two large underfloor fish boxes and two transom fish boxes. A tackle center is forward with livewell and
sink, and a staircase to port leads up to a huge flybridge that ranks among the largest in her class.

Interesting Background on Luhrs extracted from 'The Power Boat Guide 2019'
The Luhrs story began in the 1930s at the height of the depression when Henry
Luhrs, Sr. Opened a small boat-building company in New Jersey.
Luhr's production-line manufacturing methods helped propel the companys growth,
and by 1960 Luhrs and his sons, John and Warren, were producing more than 1,000
boats a year.
In 1965, the company--then one of the largest in the industry--was sold to Bangor
Punta, a railroad and lumber conglomerate.
In 1969 Luhr's sons purchased a small New Jersey builder called Silverton Sea Skiffs.
In 1980 the Luhrs brothers started two new companies, Mainship Yachts and Hunter Marine.
John and Warren purchased the Luhrs name from Bangor Punta in 1981 and began
production of an new series of sportfishing boats in St. Augustine, FL.
Luhrs grew rapidly during the 1980s and 1990s, becoming one of the best known US
manufacturers of offshore sportfishing boats.
