Finding more to love in the quaint town of Ipoh, Malaysia. A popular retirement option.

Our 3rd week in Ipoh, Malaysia lets us dig below the surface to discover more to love. Retirement life here would include exploring the stunning Perak Cave Temple complex and on Sundays the atmospheric Memory Lane Market where there are treasures hiding amongst the antiques and collectibles. Plan B shopping precinct has a modern edgy feel but nature is found clambering over the buildings with twisted vines and trees growing into the walls. It creates a cool, calm shopping and cafe space in contrast to the heat of the Old Town where it is found. In this area are also found buildings and monuments from the Colonial era including Ipoh Railway Station and the Birch Memorial Clock Tower.
And of course we sample more of the cafe culture and delicious local dishes including a sweet treat, Tau Fu Fau and Hainan Chicken Rice. After enjoying Memory Lane head to the nearby Warung Theatre Coffee for to unwind and try an iced Ipoh white coffee.
