16. MUNNI KADALAI SURUKKI....

"May you absorb the sea water to become as dark as our Goddess; flash with lightening bolts as slender as the hip of our Supreme Empress; boom with thunder that is akin to the sound made by the golden anklets adorning Her feet; create rainbows as curvy as Her beautiful eyebrows; shower as generously as our Mother's grace whose compassion overtakes that of our Lord's. Oh Clouds, rain in abundance."

16. Nayaganai nindra:

Summary:

After having woken up all the maidens, they all proceed to the palace of Nandagopa. In this Pasuram, the women of Ayarpadi request the guards of the palace to permit them in.

Translation:

Oh, the one who guards the palace of the leader Nandagopala! Oh, the one who guards the ornamental entrance adorned with a flag! Please open this gem- studded door, for the enchanting, dark hued Krishna had promised yesterday to give us all, the young ladies of Ayarpadi, Parai (drums needed for the Nombu). We have come with pure hearts to sing and wake Him up. Please don't utter the word 'No', first thing in the morning. Open the latched door and let us in!
