Most first-time visitors stick to the South Coast and Golden Circle, but some of our favourite places are a little of the beaten track, quieter, and way more unforgettable 👇

📍 Glymur Waterfall
A proper adventure hike with river crossings, canyon views, and one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls at the end. Go early and allow 3–4 hours return.

📍 Svinafellsjökull
An outlet glacier with dramatic ridges and deep blue ice. Easily accessible near Skaftafell and far less crowded than you’d expect.

📍 The Eastfjords
Remote roads, tiny fishing villages, and reindeer if you’re lucky (in winter). Perfect if you want Iceland without the tour buses.

📍 Kerlingarfjöll (Highlands)
Steaming vents, orange rhyolite mountains, and proper other-planet vibes. Summer only, 4x4 required. Worth every kilometre.

📍 Haifoss
One of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls plunging into a huge canyon. Rough access road but maximum satisfaction 😉.

📍 Fjallabak Nature Reserve
Home to crazy landscapes, black sand, mossy lava fields, and endless Highland roads. Pure freedom if you love a proper road trip.
