Dan MacDonald is the CEO and co-Founder of BIS Safety Software Inc. A cloud-based software application that powers training and compliance for thousands of companies with millions of active users around the world.

Dan started his career in retail working in various roles until he landed a job at the Brick, a furniture, appliance and electronics retailer in Canada. In this company he filled several roles including sales, management, buyer, and category manager, where his learning accelerated. His experience working with the executive team and the owner propelled his knowledge in leadership and business.

Using all that he learned from the retail experience and reading hundreds of biographies on great leaders, he applied to this start-up, BIS Safety Software, that he founded with his wife from a kitchen table back in 2006.

BIS started with minimal viable product (MVP) which landed a few early adaptors as customers that paid some of the bills. They continued to build and improve the product, the service and the software application day-by-day. Today, BIS has a 25,000 sq ft office in Sherwood Park with more than 160 full-time team members doing in excess $20MM each year in annual sales.

BIS is now starting to explore the idea of an investment partner, as they continue to grow and expand throughout the world, improving workplace safety, ensuring that more people go home safe to their family, everyday.
