Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're going to take a look at this 3 Leaf Double Eye Spring for 4,000 pound trailer axles. This Double-eye leaf spring acts as part of your trailer suspension system by providing an attachment point for a 4,000 pound axle. It's made from a sturdy steel construction and it's designed to flex, to absorb road shock, and provide a smooth ride, reducing wear and tear on your trailer; and it's going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. Double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of the spring will attach directly to the hanger with the suspension bolt, and the other end will attach to the shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger.

These straps allow the spring to move and pivot, so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. Now, if you have a tandem or a triple axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs. If you are in need of hangers, suspension bolts or equalizers, you can find them right here at etrailer.com. In the eyes on each end are pre-installed nylon bushings, as you see here, and the eye diameter with the bushings installed is 9/16" of an inch. Without those bushings, it's 11/16" of an inch.

So again, this is a three leaf spring, as you can see here, with the leaf thickness of 3/8" of an inch, it has a spring capacity of 2000 pounds, and again, it is designed for 4,000 pound trailer axles. Now giving you the measurement here from the center of the spring, the center of the eye, I'm sorry, to the center of the other eye, we are sitting right at 25 and 1/4" inches long. And the length, ah, the width of the spring rather, is sitting right at an inch and 3/4". For additional measurements that I did not cover with you today, you can find them on this product page with a diagram to show you those measurements. One final note, to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs, and we do recommend installation by a professional.
