Berlin - Walking Around Landwehr Canal near Admiralbrücke [4K]

Описание: Last Sunday our Writing Lab met on Admiralbrücke for a chill day on the banks of the Landwehr Canal and had some writing inspired by prompts. Because I wasn’t in filming mode, there’s not much footage, yet I wanted to share what I have from this bright day. (btw I’m so excited for the coming Summer!)

We got ourselves cold drinks from the nearest Späti and found a shade on Fraenkelufer.

The first prompt was to pick one sensory input, such as hearing or touch or smell, to deeply observe the present place and the people through that sense. It’s funny how loud the birds actually are when you pay attention. Or to notice which emotional frequencies we choose to filter out and which ones we zero in. Many among the group got carried away to distant memories triggered by a sound or a smell and wrote stories that blend the past and the present. The hospital across the canal turned out to be an important space for some and were featured in their pieces.

The second prompt was to pick a person from the crowd around us, create a character, and weave a story around them. I looked around for a long time before deciding to place my own fictional character on the grass near us with her imaginary friend and asked what would these young artists talk about on a beautiful day like this, in the era of climate change and wars and overwhelming technological advancements. This was the beginning of a storyline I know I’m going to trail for a long time.

We all had fun writing, sharing, and analysing each other’s stories while sunbathing and enjoying the views, making it a day we all want to repeat soon.
