Gwithian Beach is a sandy beach situated towards the end of St Ives Bay on the North coast of Cornwall.
Also known as Gwithian Towans Beach, Gwithian Beach is one of Cornwall's most popular beaches, and often has clear blue waters, despite the water being straight off the North Atlantic Ocean.
Around a mile out to sea from Gwithian Beach stands Godrevy Island with its 85 ft tall Godrevy Lighthouse built in 1859. This lighthouse is a landmark in the area, as well as being a landmark for the beach.
Gwithian Beach is towards the end of a long stretch of sand in St Ives Bay which stretches from Hayle in the west to Godrevy Head in the east. Gwithian Beach is bordered by Upton Towans Beach to the left, and Godrevy Beach to the right.
