Weapon rendering using photos - Fantasy to Post apocalyptic

Demo for my students on how to effectively use photos to help speed up the concepting process. This is for a prop design assignment, in this demo I'm designing some simple fantasy weapons and turning them into post apocalyptic weapons, purpose of the demo is to show how to use photos as support to speed up the concepting phase, and to spend as minimal time as possible for these.

Pretty much just made up stuffs on the go, I have no idea what i'm going to paint, so thats why you will see some pauses during the whole video, thats when I went to find pictures and textures on the internet. The designs are not very well thought of and I'm sure they can be refined even more.

Real time was around 2-3 hours ish, video speed is currently x6. Still lengthy but I do not want to speed up the video even more because I'm afraid it'll be too hard to understand. Final artwork can be viewed here:
