To calculate the quantity of bricks , you'd multiply the number of cubic feet by the number of bricks per cubic foot. For example, if you needed to build a wall with a volume of 100 cubic feet, you'd calculate:
100 cubic feet * 13.5 bricks per cubic foot = 1350 bricks. dry mortar is 30% of brickwork, it means that for every 1 unit of brickwork, 0.3 units of mortar are required. This ratio indicates the proportion of mortar needed relative to the amount of brickwork being done.
For example, if you're constructing a wall and the total volume of brickwork is 100 cubic feet, then the volume of dry mortar needed would be:
Volume of dry mortar = 100 cubic Ft * 30% = 30 cubic ft. To calculate the amount of cement and sand needed for 30cubic feet of mortar using a 1:5 mix ratio:
1. Calculate the total volume of the mix: 1 (cement) + 5 (sand) = 6 parts.
2. Determine the proportions for each component:
Cement: 1/6 of the total volume
Sand: 5/6 of the total volume
Now, you can calculate:
Cement needed = (1/6) * 30 cubic feet
Sand needed = (5/6) * 30 cubic feet
