It's farewell to British Airways' last 2 747s at Heathrow.
What an incredibly sad day, British Airways' last 2 remaining 747-400s at Heathrow departed their home for the last time. It truly is the end of an era with BA's 747s having graced the skies of Heathrow for 50 years. It is hard to imagine never ever seeing a British Airways 747 at Heathrow, ever again. To suddenly go from being the world's largest passenger operator of the type a before covid hit to now having none at all.
G-CIVB, in the 'Negus' livery took off first on 27R and soon disappeared into the low cloud heading straight to her final resting place at Kemble (GBA). G-CIVY followed immediately behind again going straight into the clouds then did a circuit to the South to come back round for a fly-by over 27L before she too headed to her final resting place at St Athan (DGX).
