Dr. Charles Buford, Associate Professor of Education at Australian Catholic University, sat down with us at the 17th Annual Values and Leadership Conference which was held in Brisbane, Australia between October 1-2, 2012 to discuss some of the themes from the conference. In this video clip, Dr. Buford describes the relationship between a school leader’s moral purpose and the transformation of that moral purpose into positive moral action within the context of school reform.
Dr. Buford argues that in order for any real and sustainable change to occur, teachers need to be driven by a moral purpose. In addition to being motivated by a moral purpose, he emphasizes that it is essential for teachers to maintain a leadership role in the reform process for there to be a sustainable and lasting change.
