On April 14th, 2023, the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads merged in one of the biggest railroad mergers of the 21st century. Two years have since passed, with many new trains being added across the system, and the now-integrated roster of both railroads has made for a quite colorful era on the new railroad.

In this video, we take a look at three different segments of former Canadian Pacific operations. We begin with the railroad's eastern approach to Chicago following trackage rights trains across Norfolk Southern rails, as well as run-thru trains on the CSX across Northwest Indiana. We then move to Franklin Park on the west side of Chicago and visit the railroad's large Bensenville Yard for some railroad and aviation action. In the last half, we visit the most important link in the merger - the railroad's Davenport and Ottumwa subdivisions around the Quad Cities in Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa.
