The Five Pillars

Confess that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger

Establish prayer

Pay zakat

Fast during Ramadan

Make pilgrimage to Mecca if able

The Six Articles of Faith

Faith in Allah

Faith in angels

Faith in the revealed books

Faith in the prophets

Faith in the Day of Judgment

Faith in divine decree

Here is where the dilemma emerges.

The Qur’an affirms the authority and divine origin of the Torah and the Gospel. Yet when Muslims later encountered Jews and Christians whose Scriptures contradicted Islamic teaching, a crisis formed.

There are only two possibilities:

The earlier Scriptures are preserved and authoritative.

They are corrupted.

If the Bible is preserved, Islam is false because it contradicts it.
If the Bible is corrupted, Islam is still false because the Qur’an affirms those same Scriptures as authoritative and protected.

Either way, the dilemma stands.
