Regularly monitoring and making threshold-based control measures for the varroa mite is key to keeping healthy honey bees. Amongst the various ways to monitor for varroa mites, the sugar shake method remains popular.
In this video, we take you through how to perform a sugar shake to calculate the percent mite infestation in your hives, we explore:
