Redirection of Public Health Services for the Environmental Health Division

Описание: In light of the recent fire at the Environmental Health Division Office at Bois D’Orange, the Ministry of Health is committed to ensuring that essential public health services continue with minimal interruption; and as a result, some staff members are temporarily housed within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition, effective Thursday March 12, 2026.

Key Environmental Health Services are now available at the Ministry of Health, 1st floor of the Sir Stanislaus James Building, Waterfront. These services can be accessed in the open space between the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and the Medical Assistant office. The Environmental Health Unit can also be contacted via cellphone number: 286-7531, for further clarifications and information. Please share this number with the public.

The services which are available on the 1st floor include, but are not limited to:
• Applications for licenses for all licensable premises, including:
o Water trucks and water conveyances
o Food establishments
o Water bottling plants
o Hotels alternative accommodation facilities such as guesthouses, villas, and similar establishments
o Slaughterhouses
o Swimming pools
• Health cards/ health certificates
• Submission of developmental plans for environmental health review
• Applications for mass crowd events
• Collection of approved developmental plans
• Collection of public health licenses

For lodging of all public health complaints (nuisances), please note that these services are being offered on #41, High Street, Castries (Upstairs the building which houses Citizen Jewelry Store). The unit can be contacted via cellphone number: 285-6387.

The Environmental Health Division continues to provide services at the other locations (Vieux-Fort and Soufriere). The Soufriere and Vieux Fort offices, and can be contacted via telephone between 8:00am and 4:30pm:
