The ruling United Workers Party (UWP) has announced senate president jeannine Giraudy-mcintyre, as its new Castries North candidate.
The announcement was made just hours after the incumbent Stephenson King confirmed that he would be contesting the next general elections, as an independent candidate.
Giraudy-mcintyre who is a lawyer by profession, is the daughter of the late, long-serving party chairman Henry Giraudy.
