✔️What is Strong Style Lifting?
Strong Style Lifting is a system of kettlebell workouts in the format of a game by Valery Fedorenko.
✔️The process of Strong Style Lifting is as follows:
1. Select one of the three decks you will play;
2. Draw one card with a workout from the deck;
3. Carefully examine instructions and recommendations for the drawn workout on Valery Fedorenko's YouTube channel;
4. Choose the right weight of a kettlebell for the workout (always start with lighter weights!);
5. Do a warm-up before you start the workout (see an example of a warm-up in the video description);
6. Do your workout exactly as written on the card;
7. If you choose the correct weight of the kettlebell and manage to complete the task - you'll win!
If you failed to complete the task - you chose the wrong weight for your kettlebell! Use a lighter one.
If you find the task too easy - use a heavier kettlebell.
✔️Benefits of Strong Style Lifting:
1. Surprise effect. You never know in advance what kind of workout you will have.
2. Strong satisfaction from the workout. Every card is a surprise. When surprised, our brain freezes for 1/25th of a second and enters a state of extreme curiosity as we try to figure out what is happening. As a consequence, we experience emotions that are 400x more intense. In an experiment, researchers asked basketball players to take shots from different locations and rate their perceived chances of success before the shot. After each shot, the players rated their level of happiness. The results showed that unexpected successes evoked stronger emotional reactions than expected successes. This discovery emphasizes the enhanced emotional impact of unexpected successes over the expected ones.
3. Strong motivation to practice. Any game that a player enjoys automatically generates much interest. Interest is a powerful motivational force.
