This is the 2016 BMW 3 Series 330e plug-in hybrid. Powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, the 330e claims 148mpg combined. 0-62 mph takes 6.1 seconds and it will go into a top speed of 140mph. Can the BMW 3 series 330e really be an alternative to the 330i? We find out in this road test.
A high quality cabin featuring leather seats and BMW's iDrive infotainment system is a nice environment. The car is equipped with the M Sport pack.
25 mile electrical range requires a 2 hour fast charge or 3 and a half hours from household mains for this luxury saloon. Regenerative braking and Save Mode can charge the battery to 50%.
