Описание: How element mapping with the portable ELIO Micro-XRF spectrometer gives insights into the elemental composition of the pigments used by Isaac Oliver in his miniatures is explained by Dr. Paola Ricciardi of the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. Spot analyses only provide the element composition of the pigments at various points of the miniatures. The element maps, that are additionally possible with the ELIO, help isolate successive pigment layers resulting from modifications of the miniatures for restoration purposes after they were painted.
