Bengaluru rains: Overnight downpour leads to waterlogging

Heavy rains that have been battering Bengaluru for the past two days and have thrown normal life out of gear.
Heavy overnight rains on Tuesday (October 22, 2024) led to waterlogging on roads and in houses, particularly around the Kodigehalli and Yelahanka underpasses.
Revenue Minister Krishna Byregowda visited some of the rain-affected areas. “Due to cloudburst in and around Vidyaranyapura surrounding areas, the Doddabommasandra Lake is overflowing after more than 17 years. Due to overflowing lake water is flooding lower layouts. I am in the areas trying to expedite BBMP relief work,” Mr. Byregowda said.
